Bangladesh: Hindu youth allegedly murdered by muslim girlfriend's family members in Kushtia


A hindu college student named Nayan Kumar Sarkar (22) was lynched to death in Kumarkhali, Kushtia. His father alleged that he had love affair with a muslim girl. Girl's family members threatened him several times. But he ignored them and continued the relationship. That's why he is killed. 


 The incident took place in Sondah village of Nandanalpur union of the upazila on Sunday morning. Nayan was a 12th class student of Alauddin Ahmed Degree College.

 Relatives claim that Nayan was called and beaten to death with a hammer due to a love affair.  He has serious injury marks all over his body.  According to police and local sources, college student Nayan Kumar Sarkar was missing since midnight on Saturday.  The family members searched all night but could not find him.

 Then in the early morning, his family members got to know that Nayan was lying on the roadside with serious injuries in Sondah Nahunpara field of Nandanalpur Union. Hearing this, his family members quickly rushed to the spot. They rescued him and took him to Kushtia General Hospital. The doctor on duty there referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment, as his condition was very critical. But, he died on the way to Dhaka in the afternoon.

 Nayan's father Jagesh Kumar Sarkar said that Nayan had a love relationship with the niece of former UP member Abdur Razzak of that area. He was threatened before to face dire consequences if he continued the relationship. But he didn't listen to them.

 Meanwhile, since this incident, Abdur Razzak and his brother's family are absconding.

 Nayan's sister Lata Rani said, they called my brother and beat him to death with a hammer. We want justice.

 In this regard, Nandanalpur Union Parishad member Shahinur Rahman said that Nayan was lying on the side of the road in a bloody state in the morning.  He had injuries all over his body.

 In this regard, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Kushtia General Hospital Ashraful Alam said, Nayan was admitted to the hospital around 6 am in a critical condition.  As his condition was critical, he was transferred for better treatment shortly after admission.

 Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamruzzaman Talukder said, I have been informed about the matter.  The body has been sent to the morgue.  Everything will be known after the autopsy.
