Tripura: 72 Hours Passed, Police failed to Arrest Roshan Uddin, Accused of Raping 8 Year Old Girl

Even after 72 hours, Tripura Police failed to arrest Roshan Uddin(22), accused of raping a 8 year old girl. Due to this, locals are angry and yesterday blocked a road, demanding immediate arrest of the accused. 

On 28th of July, the minor girl was raped at Jubarajnagar under Dharmanagar Police station of North Tripura district. On same day, a complaint was filed against accused Roshan Uddin in Dharmanagar Police station. 

But even after 72 hours, police could not trace the absconding Roshan Uddin. Due to this, on 30th July, Saturday, villagers in large numbers blocked Jubarajnagar -Mangalkhali road for two hours. They demanded immediate arrest and strong punishment of the accused. Later, district administration and Police officials reached the spot. After promise of immediate arrest of the accused, the road was cleared.

Some villagers alleged that Police is reluctant to arrest the accused. But Police said that they are trying their best to nab Roshan Uddin. 

On 28th of July, the minor girl went to field with her younger brother. Accused Roshan Uddin dragged her and raped her. Later, she came home and narrated the incident. She is now undergoing treatment in District Hospital.
